Peace now! (3917 bytes)

Cork.  Southern tip of the Country.  Famous for shipping, import and exports but best know for Castle Blarney. It is said that if you kiss the Blarney Stone at the top of Blarney Castle you    will be endowed with the gift of eloquence.  I'm not sure about that, but I do know that you have to stand on your head to kiss the darn thing. In order to reach the stone you have to lie on your back and lean over backwards and hold on to hand rails and lower yourself about a foot into a  hole in the castle wall to kiss the stone. Kathy and I are both now endowed with the gift of the Blarney! (photos below) They even give you a Certificate that says you kissed it.

On the way here we made a last stop in Waterford to visit Reginald Tower.   Yep, we took the tour.  It was, like most of the permanent structures, first constructed by Vikings that landed on the coast and started villages and trading. Being Vikings  there was also a little raiding.  Just to keep in practice I'm sure.
