| After twenty years hiatus, while we raised our
two children, I am finally back to teaching math full time at Federal Way High School.
This past year, I have found out that there isnt time during the school year to do
all the other activities that I enjoyed before I went back to work full time. Sewing,
Quilting, Computing, e-mail, reading
All have to be squeezed into the summer months.
The last week before we leave has been a flurry of sewing, mending, shopping
..
and reading. The book I am in the middle of is: "How the Irish Saved
Civilization" by Thomas Cahill. Neither my Catholic School education nor my Irish
heritage ever gave me the history and the mythology found in this book.
The one thing I did make time for was my Girl Scout troop. Seven Senior High girls who
have been together since elementary school. This year I graduated 4 girls and I am most
proud of the quilts that we gave those graduating Seniors. |
