Peace now! (3917 bytes)

July 8 and 9

This is where we  start the great adventrue,  in the southeast corner of the country.  Kilkenney, Waterford and Carlow will be a few of the spots we will  get to.  Lorum Old Rectory  is a bed and breakfast located midway between Bagenalstown and Borris.  We are on the second of two nights here.  The little piece of text below does not do justice to the place.  The food is first rate.  We had a seven course meal featuring rack-of-lamb last nigth and tonight was poached  chicken breast in honey mustard sauce.  Succulent  comes to mind.

A warm welcome is assured at Lorum Old Rectory, nestling beneath the Blackstairs Mountains. Bobbie and Don Smith have built a great reputation for imaginative home cooking with many organically grown ingredients.

There are plenty of places of interest within easy reach, including medieval Kilkenny, New Ross with its river cruises and Kildare's National Stud and Japanese Gardens, as well as all the sights of Carlow.
